Be prepared to be energised, captivated & inspired as our good friend, and former King’s Singer Bob Chilcott – one of the most inspiring composers, conductors, clinicians and workshop leaders of our day – joins us in DePauw to lead sessions and workshops during the Summer School.  Committed to writing music which is both “singable and communicative” Bob will share wisdom garnered from years of composing, singing and working with ensembles, guiding us through some of his most extraordinary ensemble pieces.

The King’s Singers are proud to return to Royal Holloway, University of London where they continue to be Artists in Residence and enjoy a strong professional partnership with the music department.

Eric Whitacre, guest clinician at the UK Summer School 2015 said of his involvementIt was a pleasure and honor to make music with such passionate and talented singers at the KS Summer School in 2015.  The atmosphere in that gorgeous room – the Picture Gallery at Royal Holloway – when we worked on Sleep was truly magical.  The King’s Singers are supremely talented guys – legends – and such fun to be around.  I’d participate in another KS Summer School again in a heartbeat.”

“I spent a wonderful day at the King’s Singers Summer School exploring music from the late 15th century with a large and varied group of enthusiastic and committed singers.  A highlight was the performance they gave of some of the repertoire in the beautiful chapel at Royal Holloway. This unique chance to work closely with such a skilled group as The King’s Singers is not to be missed: you will be amazed at the musical discoveries you will make.” Dr Stephen Darlington, who led an extraordinary session exploring extracts of The Eton Choirbook.
