Making the decision to move on from life in The King’s Singers is always difficult, and very emotional both for the man who decides to move on and for his colleagues who continue in the group. This week, Paul shared the news that he will be leaving The King’s Singers at the end of the summer term.

A Message from Paul

“The King’s Singers have been at the centre of my life for nearly seventeen years, and after such a long time and so many wonderful experiences it’s difficult to contemplate moving on to other things. Nevertheless this is to be my last season as tenor in the world’s finest vocal group. In August this year I shall leave The King’s Singers and move on to the next stage of life. Helena and I have spent a lot of time apart since I joined the KS in 1997, and we are looking forward to spending more time together, as we move towards our 20th wedding anniversary in September. William and Edward, my beloved boys are at last going to see more of their Dad.

I fully intend to carry on singing after I leave, but I also want to concentrate on coaching, lecturing and mentoring – passing on the extensive knowledge that my privileged position has given me. I am overwhelmed by the kindness and support from David, Tim, Chris, Chris and Johnny and I look forward to my final months as a King’s Singer, and the many celebrations we will share with our friends around the world.”
