Eric Whitacre is one of the most popular and widely performed choral composers of our time and will be joining The King’s Singers on their Summer School this 6 to 11 July 2015. For those attending the Summer School, or are still considering applying, this will be an amazing opportunity to hear from the composer himself and work with him on two of his most well-known pieces, Sleep and The Seal Lullaby.
The group were privileged to receive a commissioned work by Eric for their 40th anniversary, The Stolen Child, which sets Yeats’ exquisite poem of the same name. His first album, Light and Gold, on which The King’s Singers feature, won a Grammy® Award for Best Choral Recording in 2012.
Listen to The King’s Singers perform The Stolen Child with The National Youth Choirs of Great Britain.
