Singers aged 18 and under are invited to join composer/conductor Eric Whitacre and singers from around the world to create a special Virtual Youth Choir film to be premiered during the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games as part of a unique partnership with UNICEF, the world’s leading children’s organisation.  The film will be presented to a live audience and will also be simultaneously broadcast to a global TV audience.

Eric Whitacre has arranged a special version of ‘What If‘, from his musical Paradise Lost, for the voices of the young. Singers (18 and under) from around the globe can learn their parts then record and submit videos to be part of our first-ever Virtual Youth Choir.

All that is needed is access to a computer with an internet connection, a webcam and microphone. The entire process for learning the music and submitting a video has been made as easy as possible for everyone to participate – virtualyouthchoir.com.

If you are a young singer, tell your parents, older siblings and friends that you want to sing in Eric Whitacre’s Virtual Youth Choir, be a part of something momentous and support UNICEF.  Then, if you need it, ask them to help you. Play your part, bring your voice and help make the world a better place for thousands of less fortunate children and young people around the world.
