Composer/conductor/lecturer, Eric Whitacre, and his wife – soprano, Hila Plitmann – will both be appearing in Melbourne (Australia) in the coming week.

Hila, will sing two concerts with the Melbourne Symphony as part of the Metropolis New Music Festival – Thomas Adès Life Story  – at Melbourne Recital Centre.  The concert on Thursday 11th April will feature Knussen’s ‘Hums and Songs of Winnie the Pooh’ and the title piece of the Festival, Adès’ ‘Life Story’.   On Monday 15th  at Hammer Hall, Hila will perform his extraordinary work,  ‘Scenes from The Tempest’.

 

Meanwhile, Grammy winning composer Eric is giving an address to leading business, academic and creatives in the City on Thursday 11th, is hosting a workshop at Monash University on Friday 12th and conducts a concert Saturday 13th April with the Monash Sinfonia and and the Choir of Trinity College, University of Melbourne.
