Julian is honoured to have been named a Jury Member for the Young British Soloists’ Competition hosted by the Orchid Music Charitable Trust.

One grant is made each year, following an application process which culminates in four young artists participating in live auditions at Wigmore Hall in London. The winner is then offered a fully funded and widely promoted recording on the Orchid Classics label.

The four finalists are Louise Alder (soprano), Evelyne Berezovsky (piano), Amy Green (saxophone), Mathilde Milwidsky  (violin).

The final jury consists of:
Julian Bliss – Clarinettist
Catherine Bott – Classic FM Presenter and Soprano
John Gilhooly – Director, Wigmore Hall
Paul Hughes – General Manager, BBC Symphony Orchestra
James Jolly – Editor in Chief, Gramophone
Guy Johnston – Cellist
Martin Roscoe – Pianist
Elizabeth Watts – Soprano

The 2015 finals will take place on 26 June. Members of the public are warmly invited to attend, from 12noon until 4pm at Wigmore Hall. Tickets are available from the Hall’s box office: 020 7935 2141 or www.wigmore-hall.org.uk at a cost of £5 each.
