The King’s Singers began the 2013 – 2014 season with a week of recording in the stunning setting of Ascot Priory. Due for release in Spring 2014, “Trionfo di Dori” is a collection of 29 Italian madrigals published in 1592, having been commissioned by an Italian noble as a wedding present to his bride. The collection represents many of the major composers of teh day, including Gabrieli, Croce, Striggio and Palestrina. Previously unrecorded,

“Trionfo di Dori” served as the inspiration to the English composer Thomas Morley to put together his collection, “The Triumphs of Oriana”, as a birthday gift for Queen Elizabeth I of England, in 1601. “The Triumphs of Oriana” were recorded by the group and released on Signum in 2006.
