On Monday 16 June The King’s Singers departed for their three week tour to Australia and New Zealand, which will see them performing eight concerts in seven different cities, as well as delivering seven workshops to more than twelve different vocal ensembles. Returning to Australia and New Zealand is particularly special for the group, as it was in 1972, when a 35-concert tour of Australia and New Zealand was offered to the original members that the singers faced a decision – whether or not to become a fulltime group, or to continue with their other employment. 42 years on, the group perform more than 120 concerts each year.
