Medieval Chant and Tallis Lamentations“, the most recent release on record label Bene Arte, was reviewed by Andrew McGregor on BBC Radio 3 as part of the CD Review programme on Saturday 19 April. Recorded by Tenebrae Consort and released in March 2014, the recording of medieval chant is complemented by one of the most poignant and intense polyphonic settings of a sacred text, Tallis’ Lamentations. The disc was described as “real vocal polish”, and the programme is available on BBC iPlayer until Saturday 26 April.

Alongside being played on air, the disc was also reviewed in the May issue of BBC Music Magazine. Described by Anthony Pryer as displaying the “group’s famous sensitivity toward musical structure, as well as their exquisite harmonic control.”
