UNQUIET is an independent label operated as a joint venture between Music Productions and Eric Whitacre. Launched in 2013, its titles have reached No.1 in the classical charts, scoring critical and commercial success with Deep Field and releases such as a vinyl EP cover of Trent Reznor’s ‘Hurt’ and Eric’s setting of e e cummings’ ‘i carry your heart’.
We are creative and development consultants to the label of King’s College Choir at Cambridge University (UK). Featuring projects as diverse as the celebration of 100 Years of Nine Lessons and Carols, to Howells Cello Concerto/An English Mass and Messiaen’s La Nativité du Seigneur, the label seeks to capture and share the glorious and unique acoustic of the fifteenth century chapel and its legendary choir and newly refurbished organ.
CORO is the award-winning label of professional choir, The Sixteen, and founder/conductor Harry Christophers. Set-up by Claire Long of Music Productions in 2000 (and managed by her for the next seven years), ground-breaking recordings, marketing and technologies propelled CORO to considerable success in many parts of the world. Collaborations with Classic FM (The Sixteen – the voices of Classic FM), multiple appearances on BBC Television (including the Sacred Music series), DVD releases and the recording of multiple commissions from leading and upcoming composers, the label remains a leader in its field. Claire Long continues to Chair the Board of The Sixteen Productions.
Creating new imprints such as UNQUIET with Eric Whitacre and Lorenza Music for singer-songwriter Jordan Cosmo, we also act as project managers or producers of one-off projects with our partners. A forthcoming production is the recording of Messiah (ed. Eugene Goossens) with DCINY, recording with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in the summer of 2019 in conjunction with a charity partner, the Coram Foundation.
