Music Productions Ltd

It has been a great honour and pleasure to work with The King’s Singers since 2005, overseeing their global calendar of concerts, recordings, media and education work. Our shared goal has been to remain faithful to this illustrious ensemble’s values and principles while evolving and growing in a world of extraordinary accessibility through digital communication. During this period, Music Productions created and promoted a series of residential summer schools for the group, both in the UK and in the US. Together we formed The King’s Singers Foundation which has funded several commissions of new choral music, created access and engagement in music for the young and the elderly, and we have built and run events such as the composition competition – A Carol for Christmas – with King’s College (Cambridge) and Classic FM. Music Productions had the pleasure to celebrate The King’s Singers 40th anniversary with events around the world, and our tenure will run until the end of The King’s Singers 50th anniversary season – King’s Singers GOLD – in 2018. This bumper year sees the release of a newly recorded 3CD GOLD album, a luxury special edition set and a newly written book about The King’s Singers, commissioned and published by Music Productions. Having worked closely with the KS for well over a decade, we felt that this was a good moment to step back and allow a new chapter to unfold as the group heads into their next 50 years. It is hard to imagine a more fitting combination of creative energy, skills and contacts than offered by their new General Managers at Intermusica who will represent them from 1 January 2019, and we wish them every success.

The decision to relinquish our role with The King’s Singers creates the opportunity for a new focus for Music Productions which includes the creation of a new joint venture company with composer/conductor, Eric Whitacre, with whom we have worked since 2009 (General Management & Exec. Producers of the Virtual Choir). New touring projects are being rolled-out with Julian Bliss (clarinet) and his highly acclaimed and sought-after jazz Septet, and through Fuse, the company has a growing collaboration with indie singer-songwriters/producers August and After, and Jordan Cosmo. Our commitment and passion for the choral space remains undimmed, and in addition to presenting live events & digital initiatives we continue to work with the record label of King’s College, Cambridge, The Sixteen and their label CORO and Grammy® nominated world music artist, Chandrika Tandon. Last but not least, we are making time to actively support important causes. Currently we are working with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees to support their work in bringing music to the refugee camps and communities.
